Services Performed
  • Ran guided test modules for low oil pressure codes – control system is operating properly, sensor is reading. No oil leaks in pressurized systems seen. Removed oil filter – correct filter but metal particles seen in oil cap and filter – oil cap intact. Drained engine oil, small amount of metal particles seen. Codes: 1C0102 oil pressure too low 1C2002 oil pressure too low 1FB801 (ID212) Oil pressure! Stop vehicle message 21B235 Oil pressure plausibility 180001 Catalytic converter: efficiency too low When hot oil pressure is below specification – bearing clearance and wear would cause this to happen. Used a slightly higher thickness oil – 0w-30 synthetic and pressure is slightly better but engine is wearing internally. Will need an engine replacement at some point – we would not recommend trying to put new bearings in an engine with over 160k miles These engines do have oil pump failures, but if it failed I would expect a constant low oil pressure, not just when hot.
  • Notes: Will need a converter soon, is intermittently setting a code for it Has the beginnings of some coolant leaks – dried coolant on thermostat and secondary water pump, there is also a pipe under the intake that commonly leaks (all plastic pieces)
